There is no Ikea stores here, I was shocked to find the closest one is in Chicago area, about a 6 hour drive.

It looks like a real possibility, especially as my sewing room is in the attic, up some narrow stairs, so I'm limited as to what I can get up there.

Here in Australia, Ikea has a great fabric range. I use their novelty prints for backing on childrens' quilts, always looks great, colours clear and bright. I bought - just recently - 3 metres for $15. which is great pricing for us over here.
