Welcome from sunny Nevada! Good for you for wanting to learn to quilt. You are so lucky to have someone with that much experience to help you. Take advantage of it! My great-grandmother got me started when I was so small, I had to sit on her lap so she could work the treadle on the sewing machine (my legs didn't reach that far!).
