Some of my favorite little girl bags are made from jeans. I go to the thrift shop and find little girl's jeans that have pretty embroidered back pockets. Cut the legs off just below the crotch (or low enough to give you room for a seam below the back pockets). Open up the crotch seam. I pin the waistband together to be sure I keep them even, then cut off the bottom so it is even (roughly-LOL). Sew a seam on the bottom to make a bag. I cut the flat-felled seams from the legs to use for straps. Sometimes I take out one of the seams on a back belt loop, put a pony tail elastic under the loop and stitch then stitch the loop back in place. Stretch the elastic and fasten on the button above the zipper.
