Thanks for all the responses! Finally I discovered what was wrong!!! My pinked strips measure 1 1/2" from the VALLEY on one side to the PEAK on the other....go figure! So on the first strip, in order to make my succeeding strips the correct size, I have to sew with the PEAK of the pinked edge even with the straight edge and on the opposite side I have to sew with the straight edge even with the VALLEY of the pinked side. Doesn't sound like it would make that much difference does it but it does when you're sewing 5 strips together.
