My mom used to always volunteer to check in crafts at our county fair. It is a hard job. And mostly thankless. She has plenty of stories of people not reading, not understanding, or not complying with the written rules and plenty of stories about the fair book not being well written so questions of interpretation would cause problems. So, thanks to the lady for helping out at the fair to the best of her ability.
I just appliquéed a quilt label on a quilt for a show that required my name, address and phone number and they stated the label could be pieced or appliquéed but "on the back" was the only directive as to location. The thing that seriously bugs me is the address and phone number! I don't think those two bits of info add much to the aesthetic of my quilt.
