i think the general consensus will be that you are not obligated to tip your quilter.
however, your own heart seems to have concluded that you want to tip her and would like some suggestions as to what might be appropriate.
the standard tip for other services is between 15% and 20%.
if that's more than your budget can support, perhaps you could buy her a spool of her favorite LA quilting thread, some bobbins for the machine she uses, or something similarly useful to her business.
