I just took the same color material and put a new binding over the old one. That way I saved the actual quilt and gave it a new look (after I got most of the stains out). He was thrilled with the end results.
On one end of the quilt the binding and part of the border is ripped off. I am just going to trim it all the way around and try and re border and bind. Not sure how yet. I will have to play around with it to see what will be the best way to go. I am so happy to have it and yes I am going to put her name etc on it. Thanks everyone for the giving me ideas.
