I like the blue and orange theme. Neutrals seem like a good palette as well. I think that even greens and browns with a touch of yellow and deep reds or purples for the light and shadow effects (respectively) will work well too? It will be interesting to see what you decide. I look forward to seeing the finished quilt!

The design is by Gunta Stolzl for fabric in Jacquard technique (1927 17.3x34.5 cm Bauhaus-Archiv Berlin). She was an artist who worked out of the Bauhaus School of Design. Most of her designs were for rugs, but this one looked as if it could be worked as a quilt. I found it here:
