How large are the blocks? If you did stitch in the ditch would it be enough quilting? Would you be happy with it?
I did an embroidery quilt that I did fm around the embroidery, then I quilted a grid in the background (not over the embroidery). It was difficult to do but the results were worth it to me, it really made the embroidery stand out.
