Your colors and theme are great. Yes, layer cakes and jelly rolls are fine and you DO NOT need to pre-wash them. They would be ruined.
I'm anxious to hear the other themes. So far, we have:
Yvonne - 'The City' theme black/white/grey/taupe
Sherry - florals theme blue/cream/cranberry
Barbara - ??? theme - nearly finished first row
MaryLane - still dithering LOL!
Jane - 30's reproduction theme on white TOT background
