I've never deer hunted. I do enjoy going to the shooting range (just up the road) and doing some target practice though. I did some squirrel hunting with my dad when I was a kid.
I helped butcher many deer early in our marriage. We used to grind our own burger, cut steaks and loin. One of our favorite parts was the heart. My husband hasn't hunted the last few years, so we eat more beef now. Our two older kids took hunter's safety last fall, so they have been thinking about hunting this year. Not sure if they will or not....didn't practice much.
