Congratulations on your first block! You might find that all of your blocks will be that 1/4 inch smaller if there are a lot of seams. That elusive "slightly less than 1/4" seam can really eat up a lot of fabric if it gets a little fat. Sashings can be the equalizer in some cases. Enjoy the journey and show off your handiwork.
