This is an excellent suggestion! I made a rag quilt out of a pair on my father's jeans after he passed away. I made sure I included the two back pockets (you can tuck in your kleenix when you're sick!) and the leather tag with the inseam and waist size to personalize it. It is the quilt I sleep with every night in cold weather. It's really warm and a part of him.
