DH always wants me to modify his hunting clothes. Add a pocket, add netting, add or take away something to make it custom just for his needs. Hunting fabrics are heavy and bulky and thick. I told him my machine wouldn't sew that and not mess up the timing. He said well go buy one that will. I did. I'll do any modifying of his hunting stuff except zippers. Zippers go to the alterations dept at the cleaners.
