Learn from my mistake - Do NOT challenge your sewing machine like this...i broke the tension on one of my 'old favorites' doing this!
When dealing with heavy/multilayer seams, you need to put a shim behind the seam to life the foot evenly over the seam. If your machine is made to handle thick seams, it should then sew ok. If not, who knows what will happen?
