Arrogant doctors need to be jolted into real life. In my breast cancer support groups, we talk about doctors a LOT, and we tell newbies that IT'S OKAY TO FIRE YOUR DOCTOR!!! We're paying them - they work for us - and if we don't like how they're talking (or NOT talking) to us, we can fire them. Fortunately, I have had caring, NOT arrogant surgeons and oncologists. I always have a list of questions - and my doctors WANT to answer all my questions.
I used to take my Mom to her dr appointments, and I printed 2 copies of my questions - and handed 1 to her doctor. The first time, he told me,'I wish ALL my patients would do this.' THAT is what a REAL doctor who's truly interested in helping his patients should say and feel.
