My advice of what to do to those who pooh pooh other's 'style' is ignore them. There are always those who are outspoken or just plain mouthy, know it all and down right rude. If I did not ask for your opinion. Keep it to yourself. A few times in my life, a few have thought they had been given carte blanche to comment on my decor. When they were done, my rude slipped out on them, "Oh, you don't like the way I have things? Well, it doesn't really matter does it, you don't live here." "I love it." Converstation over and never have to deal with their opinions again.

If someone ever said they were going to tear out OAK cabinets, they'd quickly find the street. To many today think 10 years is old, and some marketeer tells them it's time to update. What they are really saying is, you need to spend money (of which most DO NOT have). Thus they find out after spending big bucks, it didn't help fix anything. It's the inner self that need updated.
