In Part Three of the book, she has examples you can use for patterns. If you study the numbered sections of the triangle pattern and then look to see which fabric she used, you'll understand what to look for to replicate that design. I think those examples are just a jumping off point for everyone.
I have finished reading the book, have bought more fabric, but don't have the template plastic or the clear rulers yet. My fireworks quilt is taking my time right now, as I want to get most of it quilted before I start on something new.
