I have quite a few now that I look at my ruler rack. When I first began quilting I bought rulers I thought I'd need like a 3" X 18" & a 6" X 6 1/2" square, especially after looking at how much the larger sizes were and thinking they were too expensive. As time has passed, I've decided I needed larger ones and have since bought a 12" square, a 6" X 24". These are the two I use most frequently. I also have a 1" X 12", a triangle and 2 new diamonds for making Lone Star quilts. If I'm paper piecing, I use the 6" X 24" to cut my strips and then switch to either the 6" square or the 1" X 12" for trimming each strip after each seam is sewn. I've also purchased a larger cutting mat (24" X 36"). Just about my whole sewing table is covered with cutting mats now. It sure saves wear and tear on my table.
