I make my own bestpress...you can decide whether to put the colour or scent in that way...and it's alot cheaper! The stuff you have I would definitely bring back to where you bought it and find out what can be done to replace it.
I took it back to m LQS, and he did replace it. He left a message at the Best Press customer service number, and will let me know what he finds out. Says he's never seen anything like it.
