I have a friend who does the scraps into strips into jelly rolls, too!
She almost knows how many rolls it takes to make a lap robe for our veterans' quilts. We have made a number of strip quilts, either putting the strips diagonally or straight across with her rolls. Right now at the Post, I have some of her strips in a bag, and a drawer full of scraps ready to be cut, sewed, and rolled. With a black sashing between the blocks, it makes for a very distinctive quilt.
