I probably would not purchase one. I prefer a TV tray covered with 2 layers of thick batting then cotton canvas stretched over the top and stapled to the bottom. I sit it beside the sewing machine here at home and take it when I go to different groups to sew. I am very careful to "press" not iron when pressing seams. I prefer to press as I go most of the time.
I have one and use it often. Great when pressing bias pieces. I also find it useful when piecing small blocks. It eliminates stretch and distortion.
