All Dysons are great and IMO the best one on the market. I have their DC03, about 12 years old and still doing a super job. It is not one of their models that are specifically for pets as I had to have one that was not too heavy but believe me it takes up all of my Muffin's hair, mine and the quilting mess.

One of the best things about the Dysons are ALL of their parts are renewable and replaceable and easy to find so you never need to completely renew it. My opinion by the Dyson model you can afford rather than a cheaper copy.
