I use Dawn dish liquid for oil type spots. I figure if they used it to take oil off wildlife from oil spills than it should work on my much smaller "spills". Spot clean it with a few drops. It is very effective , so much so I keep a bottle near my washer.
I do the same thing! Shhhhhh...we don't want the makers of Dawn to get wind of it and then try to package it as a laundry aid and charge an enormous price!! I think it works better than Shout or Resolve and sometimes Oxyclean
