My youngest daughter has taken her quilt to college, trekking through Spain, several places where she has lived, and just recently asked me to please put another binding on it since it was worn. I was bowled over! I didn't even know she still had it with all that moving around! She raised her eyebrow at me and said "Mom, of course I have it!"
