How lovely and what a pleasure to hear how it's been loved and treasured.

I fell out with my Sister big time a couple of years back not just for this but one of the many reasons. On two separate visits she has one of my quilts at the back door for her dogs to wipe the mud of their paws when coming in from the garden. When I asked why, she replied well the dogs had torn them anyway and when I replied, but as I made them I could repair them she just shrugged her shoulders. It hurt so much and still does, even now.
