Well, my Free Sewing Machine Co VS machine is a cast iron TANK. The head alone must weight close to 35 pounds. It sews great, is quieter than every other VS machine I've got and used, and as I said above uses Singer style shuttles and bobbins.
Are they good machines ... yes. Are they as good as their contemporary Singers .... yes. Do they have a high resale value .... no.
Are they worth buying and using ... definitely.
