Yes, I do do this. Especially if I have purchased fabric that coordinates, I make sure I keep them together. I have a bin that holds " cooridnated projects" and each project has its fabric and pattern in a zip lock bag. I have to admit that I've taken some fabric out in a pinch, but I try not to.
