Cut and Shoot, TX and Tomball, TX are not far from where we live. Tomball was named for Tom Ball, a local congressman, but they spell and say it as one word.
What gets me about place names are the funny pronunciations. New Madrid, MO, Vienna, IL and Cairo, IL are not pronounced at all like the places they were named for.
