Hi Trisher...what you said makes a lot of sense to me, using what you have on hand for the Dresden Plate and then see where that takes you for the rest of the squares. I will try that. Another question though. In your quilt, you said you used what you had in those color ways, and then "bought a little more". Would several different fat quarters be enough to work with? Or would you buy several different "1/2 yd. pieces"? If you were starting the 2012 BOM from scratch, would you just go pick out and buy like 10 different FQ's and would that give you enough to make the quilt??? I bought 4 different purples but I think I may have over-bought. (I got 1 yd. each) I will have to buy several other fabrics to go with those 4.
