Please wash all colors as they will run. Esp. Reds, greeens and blues and blacks. I use Shout out fabric sheets in the wash to keep the colors from running. There are other products out there as well. Check w/ your local quilt shop.
You sure don't want to ruin your quilt after all the work. Nice job on your first one. Drying w/ a elec. dryer will draw up the fabric and batting, even though it is prewashed. Make sure your quilting is at the recommended distance apart as stated on the batting package . Welcome to the board. You will learn from us. I am still learning.

I just popped some colour catchers in the machine when I washed it and it all came out fine. My second quilt is mostly white with some super bright red and blue, but I'm using Kona Cotton Solids, which I hope will be ok!
