Since yours is a rental, you don't have the option that I was given when I retired and went into sewing/quilting mode some 10 years or so ago--mine was built to order for me, a completely self-sufficient 30x40 space about 50 feet outside our back door. And it still isn't big enough......there are times when I have to force myself to go out there and clear clutter before I can even make myself get started on another project. I can't stand to throw anything away, and won't do yard sales; so I really get myself into a pickle; and beg my sisters to come over and give me a hand with the clearing/cleaning. They do, and I'm happy for another few months.

Good luck in your venture; and everyone on here is right about hubby being No. l, and sewing/quilting wherever it falls. Invite him to join you--he might be a good machine quilter--I have a grown son who does most of my machine quilting, for money or for me. He is good at the quilting, and can keep the "tension problems" to a minimum, plus he knows how to "fix" it when it starts making a funny noise.
