The border is what 'pops' in this quilt. If it's going to be on a bed where you wont see most of it anyway, I can understand leaving it. I'd rather have the piecing in the middle be what pops. It IS a gorgeous quilt though! If that border wasn't there, the middle of the stars in the lattice is what would pop! I keep looking at it. Parts of it look like a quilt I pieced a few years ago. So, I know I could make something similar. It would probably take me longer though. I've got a few quilts in the frying pan at this point in time.
