Hi Sue. Picking up paint chips is a GREAT idea, and so is talking to your recipients about what they think neutral is. With a cup of coffee or tea and a half an hour, you'll have their preferences nailed down.

One of my first quilts was a Snowball pattern done in shade of taupe and cream. It turned out really well and remains one of my faves. With luck your recipients will feel the same way about yours. Don't forget to post a pic when you're done!
