Make sure there is plenty of light near your sewing machine.
Also ensure you have extra bobbins pre-wound. Nothing is more irritating than having to stop sewing half-way through strip piecing to wind a bobbin, except maybe sewing a block together to find ONE PIECE is wrong side up and then getting to "un-sew" a whole block.
