I have had the same experience and will not donate a quilt to be auctioned off any more. I believe that a raffle brings in more money, mine also was for a "good cause". It was a full sized rag quilt and I even made pillowcases to go with it, it brought $20.00!! Didn't even pay for my time, little only the fabric and batting. Your quilt is gorgeous by the way, and should have brought a lot more.

I totally misunderstood what you had said, I thought it actually went up for auction, not someone who saw it before hand, but I think I would personally tell that person that she knew the proceeds from the quilt went to a good cause and that she should be ashamed of herself for paying such a piddly amount of money for such a gorgeous quilt. If you decide to donate another one at another time, if the same person tries the same thing, tell her what it's REALLY worth.
