I recently went on a sewing cruise , one of the requirements was to have glass headed pins, I did not know why , DUH, well when you iron over plastic headed pins the head melts onto your fabric and the iron, Some of the projects we did required you to iron over pins to make the perfect fit, Some of the ladies told me they use only glasss headed pins for everything, I don't iron over pins because of the marks they leave behind,I make the traditional older looking quilts so mostly I do not wash my material first and that leaves an old puckered quilt like Grandma used to make from flour sacks,
