To me quilting as always been like therapy, although I'm not sure if it's cheaper than actual therapy, but it works for me. Several years ago my second oldest brother passed away from cancer, however, because of the date for the funeral my sister and I would not have been able to get there in time to attend. We opted to not go, called our SIL to offer our condolences and prayers. Then I went to my sewing room and began quilting an oversized king quilt, which helped me work through my grief. Even if I just sit at my sewing table and try to organize or clean up my sewing area it helps to clear the cobwebs from my brain and when I finish something - it's time to celebrate.
