This block is perfectly fine, there is nothing wrong with it as long as it's square. Now you need to make 3 more just like it, all the same size. Cut your other blocks all the same size, all square. When you sew these hourglass blocks to the solid corner blocks, you will see the seam allowance. The points will not go all the way up to the corners.
ooooooooohhhhhhh, now I get it! I have just been practicing my squares most of the day and haven't put anymore together in rows since earlier. I finally get what you are saying. With my blocks squared accurately, when I sew them all together, the seams will give me my points. I don't know why I kept thinking I should have extra seam allowances on the edges. Thank you so much again for being helpful and patient with me. Yay, now I have to buy more fabric LOL I practiced on almost everything I had LOL
