I use basting spray on my quilts on my frame (I have HQ16) for the borders . I don't pin them in place.. can't quite figure out what the point of pinning when you have to take them out to stitch...??... so I just spray the border down... it works fine... If I'm turning a quilt to do side borders I do a basting stitch for the draw in...again pinning doesn't work for me
