Depending on your DSM and your FMQ foot ........ you may be able to use your regular quilting rulers. I have played with mine and yes, it works OK. I haven't done anything for "real" yet though!!

I did get a piece of plexi, twice the thickness of your quilting rulers from the glass shop too.

Keep in mind that using the rulers, you do not put them on the line (eg. SITD), as the needle is over from that ... it takes some coordination to figure out how far to place the ruler from where you want the stitching to be.

I think the shapes/curves would be great to use. I played with them when I tried the S16, and wow did they ever make for even and perfect stitching. I'm sure that with some practice, one could use them with a DSM as well!
