Holice, I agree with what you are saying about the template. Using a template for a crazy quilt would certainly add lots of extra time for the cutting. I can see where the results might be pretty with similar blocks, but the whole freeform concept would be compromised.
Is there a link to see pictures of the Modern Guild Quilt Show you mention?
