What about a motion-sensor light? We only see the critters at night and they seem to be fairly shy.
I have sensor lights & they still come around. I think it's because a neighbor like's to throw food out for them & any other wildlife, skunks, possums, foxes, & anything else roaming through. We have asked them not to, but they thinks it's funny. So sad or stupid.
