I think the only time I ever made a flying goose was in my first ever quilting class when we made a sampler quilt. Nothing I've made since then called for them although I've seen a pattern here and there that I liked.

Making a note to self in case I ever decide to do something with them.
I just use a fabric marking pencil it brushes off. Also I should have included one more photo the show right side to right side but opposing corners. As you may have quested it is harder to explain than to actually do. Here are a couple of more sizes I also for for to include. The the Large Square will be you Sky and the smaller square your Goose. For a Finished 1-1/2 x 3 -- use a 6-1/2 inch square and a 5 inch square. Trim goose unit to 2 x 3-1/2. For a Finished 2-1/2 x 5 -- use a 8-1/2 inch square and a 7 inch square. Trim goose unit to 3 x 5-1/2. For a Finished 3 x 6 -- use a 9 inch square and a 7-1/2 inch square. Trim goose unit to 3-1/2 x 6-1/2. And etc. I think Finished geese units are height x 2 equals length ie. Finished 1-1/2 x 3, 2 x 4, 2-1/2 x 5, 3 x 6, 4 x 8. Then when you put two together you would have square blocks. Here is a photo of the placement Before second sewing line.
Have a good weekend. Sewing anyone?
