Here is a machine you don't see everyday. Its a circa 1980 Singer Starlet 496. I keep this machine for its good zigzag stitch. Plus its light and pretty cool the way it all folds up into itself. Its just like a Singer Genie, but it has a free arm feature.

This machine was made in France and came with a manual that was copyright 1980. The foot pedal and manual are stored in the slide out peace with the thread diagram on it. It weighs about 12 pounds I'm guessing and is mostly plastic but the free arm is metal.
