Yes! I cut 3 layers - 1 cotton and 2 flannel. I placed the page from a magazine down first, then my cotton layer then my 2 layers of flannel. I only had a couple of places that I had to pick out after doing several cuttings and it wasn't a big deal. Certainly not the horrendous mess the original poster had
