But what I did is lay a coat hanger down on fabric, all a couple of inches all around and then sew. (Hangers really are different sizes depending on what they are made out of.) Make sire you leave a small opening for the hook part. You can make them as long as you want. The full length of a ball gown or short, just enough to keep dust off shoulders. You can also add decorative touches, buttons, lace ribbon etc. Hope that helps.
