I rented a house once in the country not far from main road and loved it. Even the occasional skunk family. It was so peaceful. I would come home and after kids went to bed I would turn off the lights and watch the animals, including deer in the winter walk across the paths we walked previously. In the morning the boys would put their boots on and check out the different animal tracks. Was hard getting them to finish breakfast and on the bus. They were both in scouts and would try to identify the tracks. The oldest is now a hunter and stocks up on game for his freezer. He grows his vegetables and loves it. Hates city life. He says bad enough he has to work in it.
