Yes, you can make quillows out of anything. I have used polarfleece on the back, and used flannel on both sides. The difference is how big you make the pillow part if your quillow is lap size. I always made my quillows 2 yards long and 44 or so wide, and made a 18-20 inch square for the pillow part. That was with 3.5 oz batting inside. Isuggest to make the quilt part first, and then fold it up like a pillow and check to see what would be the best size for the pillow for it. Then make the pillow part and sew on the quilt part.
