One of my ladies had a surprise present from her husband a while back, he spent £300 ish of the new, at that time, the Singer Heavy Duty machine, after trying it a couple of times she gave it to me to try, at my suggestion she sent it back and got her money refunded, terrible machine, for ordinary sewing or quilting.

I would buy a Bernina at any price, they do cost a lot to repair, mine is at present for a service which will cost £200 but it is a 740 model and hasn't been serviced etc. in all of it's 40+ to my knowledge and IMO is well worth while as I know it will keep going for at least another 40+, not that I will be around long enough to find out
